In 2006, Dr. Charles E. Mangum, MD, MBA, FACP, founded North Texas Pathology Associates (NTPA) with a vision to deliver high-quality anatomic and clinical pathology services to Lake Pointe Medical Center and the physicians serving the community of Rowlett, Texas. Since its inception, NTPA has expanded to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the region, establishing contracts with additional hospitals, surgery centers, and private practices.

Under Dr. Mangum's leadership, NTPA has grown significantly, attracting a diverse group of pathologists with specialized training to ensure comprehensive pathology services. This collaborative approach has allowed NTPA to maintain high standards of patient care and meet the increasing demands of a thriving medical community.

In 2013, recognizing the specific needs of east Texas, Dr. Mangum established Nacogdoches Pathology to further extend the reach of quality pathology services. This initiative reflects NTPA’s commitment to serving patients and healthcare providers across a broader geographic area, ensuring access to expert pathology consultations and diagnostic services.

A distinguished leader in his field, Dr. Mangum earned his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1991. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology, followed by a fellowship in surgical pathology, at the same institution in 1996. His commitment to excellence continued with the completion of a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business in 2005, equipping him with the knowledge to navigate the complex landscape of healthcare management.

As a board certified pathologist in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Mangum is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). His qualifications and dedication to the field ensure that NTPA and  Nacogdoches Pathology remain at the forefront of pathology services in North Texas.

As NTPA and Nacogdoches Pathology continue to grow, Dr. Mangum and his team remain dedicated to their mission of providing exceptional pathology services, fostering collaboration with healthcare providers, and advancing the quality of patient care in the communities they serve.
