Dr. Hovav graduated medical school at Ross University School of Medicine with Honors, completed an Internal Medicine internship at Beth Israel Medical Center, and then became a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA's Semel Institute of Neuroscience in Brain Stimulation and Neuroimaging in Mental Illness. She later completed her residency in Psychiatry at the University of Nebraska-Creighton University joint program and was awarded Diplomate status by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. After residency, she served as a Medical Director of Behavioral Health running a geriatric and adult unit, and later moved to private practice work which she enjoys her role as psychiatrist in long-lasting and rewarding relationships with patients. Dr. Hovav has published in top medical journals on a variety of topics and has lectured to physicians around the country. She believes in using an evidence-based treatments, but also a creative psychopharmacologic approach to those who suffer with more treatment-resistant disorders.
