Get to know Obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Mamie S. Bowers, who serves patients in Flemington, New Jersey.

Dr. Bowers is an obstetrician-gynecologist who has enjoyed being in practice for more than 25 years. She is currently serving patients at Lifeline Medical Associates in Flemington, New Jersey. Every day, Lifeline Medical Associates challenges the standards of women’s care by staying ahead of the healthcare curve. “Our mission is at the heart of what we do, so our patients can experience a difference that matters” as stated by their website.

A native of Hunterdon County, Dr. Bowers has played an active role as a member of the Hunterdon Medical staff. She serves as Chairperson of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and works on patient safety initiatives and improvements in maternity care for the women of Hunterdon County. Her nursing peers elected her HMC’s physician of the year and she received the statewide Apple Award from the NJ Nursing Association.

Dr. Bowers received her medical degree from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She then went on to complete her residency and internship at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Bowers is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that board certifies obstetricians and gynecologists (OB-GYNS) and offers continuing certification to OB GYNS in the United States and Canada. The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Dr. Bowers is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (FACOG). She is also a member of the Medical Society of New Jersey.

Obstetrics and gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. OB-GYNs, like Dr. Bowers, specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders that affect women. Additionally, they work with expecting mothers throughout their pregnancies, during childbirth, and into postpartum. Dr. Bowers is an advocate for women’s health and enjoys educating her patients about their bodies, their health and their health care options. Her clinical interests include menopause health, preconception health, management of uterine fibroids and abnormal menstrual bleeding, and pelvic support problems.

Dr. Bowers is married with 2 adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the theatre, listening to music, traveling, and gardening.
