Get to know Acupuncturist, Barbara Knoll, who serves patients in Lavallette, New Jersey.

Barbara is a licensed acupuncturist currently working with patients at her private practice – Knoll Acupuncture – in Lavallette, New Jersey. She became interested in acupuncture after a friend introduced her to the subject. She was drawn to the field because it combines a body, mind and spirit approach to health and wellness. She has always had a passion for helping people and through the practice of acupuncture she is able to help many people.

An honors graduate from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York, the country’s largest oriental medical college, she is board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and the State of New Jersey. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and a certificate in Alcoholism Studies from The College of New Jersey.

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a technique in which thin needles are inserted into the body and in some cases, electro-stimulation is applied to gently stimulate particular regions of the body. Acupuncture is also used to maintain general health and well-being. Acupuncturists treat a variety of health concerns including women’s health/fertility, autoimmune disorders, digestive disorders, joint and muscle pain, insomnia, and emotional concerns such as stress management, anxiety & depression.
