The American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults (internists). The board is one of 18 medical specialty certifying boards of the American Osteopathic Association Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and was established in 1942. 

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiologists, Dr. Marcotte received additional board certification in adult echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography. He is also board-certified in nuclear cardiology through the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Marcotte is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association and is licensed to practice in the state of Michigan.
