Get to know Cardiologist, Dr. Robert M. Marcotte, who serves patients in Sterling Heights, Michigan

Dr. Marcotte is a board-certified cardiologist who practices at K Heart & Vascular Institute PLLC in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He practices alongside Srinivas Koneru, MD, FACC, FSCAI. Moreover, Dr. Marcotte is affiliated with Ascension Michigan Providence Hospital and Ascension Michigan Macomb-Oakland Hospital. 

After completing his undergraduate education at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dr. Marcotte pursued his Doctor of Osteopathy degree at Michigan State University College Of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan, and graduated in 2011. He then joined Botsford Hospital – Beaumont Farmington Hills in Farmington Hills, Michigan, for his internship and internal medicine residency (2011-2014) and his cardiovascular disease medicine fellowship (2014-2017). 

Subsequent to his education, Dr. Marcotte attained board certification in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults (internists). The board is one of 18 medical specialty certifying boards of the American Osteopathic Association Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and was established in 1942. 

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiologists, Dr. Marcotte received additional board certification in adult echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography. He is also board-certified in nuclear cardiology through the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Marcotte is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association and is licensed to practice in the state of Michigan.
