Dr. Bakkali is a fellowship-trained physician dedicated to geriatrics at the Center for Geriatrics at Northeast Medical Group and at Bridgeport Hospital.
Serving patients 65 and over, she offers outpatient and inpatient consultative services, including cognitive assessment, mood assessment, fall risk evaluation, polypharmacy assessment, as well as education and support to caregivers. She treats those living with memory and cognitive issues, including dementia and depression, and can provide referrals to psychotherapy and physical therapy as needed.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Bakkali graduated with her medical degree from Mohamed Fifth University in Morocco in 2000. She then relocated to the United States, performing her internship and residency in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center. She also completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Connecticut Medical Center.
Teaching geriatrics and consultative services to residents and fellows, Dr. Bakkali has been serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at Yale School of Medicine since 2018.
Attributing her success to discipline and dedication, she is board-certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
