Get to know Psychologist and Pediatric Neuropsychologist Dr. Jennifer A. Carlson, who serves the population of Ridgewood, New Jersey. Dr. Carlson is a highly experienced and venerated physician, having been in practice for over 17 years, and specializing in all facts of psychology, including diagnostics of various learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, as well as dyslexia, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. She completed her doctoral externship clinical training at Rockland Children Psychiatric Center, performing neuropsychological and psychological evaluations and conducted individual, group, and family therapy with her patients. Dr. Carlson completed her doctoral internship training at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Medical Center in the Inpatient and Outpatient Pediatric Psychology units. While studying at Rusk, Dr. Carlson also served as a liaison between the Pediatric Psychology department and the Preschool Disabled Program, and interned in the Neonatal Comprehensive Continuing Care Program. She continued her postdoctoral training at the Rusk Institute- NYU Medical Center, training in two prestigious private practices in New York City and Ridgewood, NJ where she conducted neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations and individual and family therapy. To stay current with the latest advancements and developments within her field, Dr. Carlson remains an active member of the American Psychological Association, the New Jersey Psychological Association, and the Bergen County Psychological Association. She currently practices with her private practice Carlson Psychological Services, LLC.
