Dr. Prasertvit is a board-certified general surgeon who has joined the team of more than 300 physicians and medical providers with the CHI St. Vincent Medical Group. She sees patients two days a week at CHI St. Vincent Surgery Clinic – Little Rock & three days a week at CHI St. Vincent Little Rock Diagnostic Clinic.
A gifted surgeon, she has years of experience in general surgery, breast surgery, endocrine surgery, as well as minimally invasive robotic surgery. Prior to her current endeavours, she served as general surgeon and breast surgeon at Nashville Surgical Associates in Nashville, Tennessee
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Prasertvit also spent part of her childhood in Thailand where her parents are originally from. She earned her undergraduate degree from Penn State University, including a minor in Health Policy and Administration. Subsequently, she attended and graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis College of Medicine. She then completed her residency training in comprehensive general surgery at the University of Tennessee, Memphis.
Dedicated to surgical excellence, she is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Prasertvit is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Prasertvit is an avid college football fan and enjoys food, whether it be cooking or trying new restaurants and recipes. She is a lover of animals, including two of her own rescue dogs, Joycee and Nadia. When not working, she spends as much time as she can with her family and friends outdoors.
