With over two decades of experience managing patients with traumatic injuries, Dr. Clancy treats the scope of traumatic injuries as well as cares for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. 

His educational journey began at Wheaton College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from 1981 to 1985.  Following this, he pursued a Doctor of Medicine Degree at Creighton University School of Medicine from 1988 to 1992. During his time at Creighton University, Dr. Clancy was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu and Omicron Delta Kappa. 

Continuing his academic pursuits, Dr. Clancy completed the General Surgery Residency Program at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine from 1992 to 1998. He then further specialized in surgical critical care, undertaking a fellowship at Jackson Memorial Medical Center through the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine from 1998 to 1999.

After gaining valuable medical experience, Dr. Clancy extended his education to business administration, earning a Master of Business Administration Degree with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2011. 

Board certified in both surgery and surgical critical care, the doctor is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. 

Holding academic appointments, Dr. Clancy serves as a Professor of Surgery at the University of South Florida, and as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
