Get to know Acupuncturist Dr. Karla Sourasky Olmos, who serves patients in Scottsdale, Arizona

Karla is a Licensed Acupuncturist practicing at Alivia Acupuncture Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. She manages a full spectrum of chronic and acute conditions, such as pain of all types, reproductive disorders, autoimmune disorders, circulatory disorders, endocrine disorders, mood disorders, and nervous system disorders, insomnia, digestive disturbances, and skin, joint and respiratory problems. She established her own practice in 2015.

Alivia Acupuncture Clinic is a holistic clinic that considers the person as a whole (body, mind and spirit) whose quest is optimal health and wellness. It offers a comprehensive list of treatment services, such as electro acupuncture, Chinese nutritional counseling, moxibustion, cupping, and gua sha.

“I empower my patients to participate in their own path to health by supporting and educating them on prevention techniques that have a synergistic effect with acupuncture, including diet, sleep habits, regular exercise, and stress reduction”, states Karla.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Karla initially completed a medical degree with honors at Universidad Anahuac School of Medicine in Mexico City, Mexico. She relocated to the United States, where she decided to pursue a more holistic path. As such, she obtained a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture (MSAc) from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (2014). 

Following her training, she attained board certification in acupuncture through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). The NCCAOM is a non-profit organization in the United States that aims to establish, assess, and promote recognized standards of competence and safety in acupuncture and Oriental medicine for the protection and benefit of the public.

Licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Arizona, Karla loves spending time with her husband and kid, as well as practicing yoga and pilates and reading any type of books. She truly enjoys books about health and nutrition.
