Get to know Family Physician Dr. Jose David Suarez, who serves patients in Coral Gables, Florida.

Dr. Suarez, widely known as “Dr. Joe”, is a board-certified family physician who has been practicing since 1991 and has been caring for both men and women’s health care issues for over two decades. At his private practice in Coral Gables, Florida, his mission is to create a wellness community focusing on sexual health, aesthetics and weight loss, to inspire vitality through ‘Happy Healthy Living.’

In his current capacity, Dr. Suarez is also the Program Director of a Family Medicine Residency Program in Miami and has been faculty at teaching hospitals in Miami and New York.

The doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. He is also a Delegate of the Florida Medical Association, a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, as well as serves on the Board of Directors of the Dade County Medical Association. 

On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Suarez earned his medical degree from Eastern Central University in the Domenican Republic. He then went on to train at Christiana Care in Delaware, one of the top family medicine residency programs in the United States.

Among his various achievements, he was awarded a US patent as inventor for a medical device for erectile dysfunction, as well as has made multiple guest appearances in television and radio shows, including CNN News and Univision. He has also been honored with several awards for his expertise, including Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018), the On-Time Doctor Award (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018), and the Patients’ Choice Award (2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018).

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
