Get to know Dentist Dr. Chris Kirby, who serves patients in Longview, Texas.

Known as a perfectionist, Dr. Kirby focuses on total care of his patients in a compassionate and professional manner. He practices alongside Dr. David Vaca at their dental practice, Vaca & Kirby Dental, located in Longview, Texas.

Armed with almost 30 years of dental experience, Dr. Kirby’s unyielding pursuit of excellence and perfection has been the driving force behind his extensive background in comprehensive, esthetic, and implant dentistry, as well as dental sleep medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Texas A&M College of Dentistry. He is also a graduate of the Baylor Esthetic Continuum. After completing a year of rigorous surgical training at the Misch Institute in Detroit, Michigan, he was awarded one of the highest honors bestowed upon a dental professional. 

A Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, his commitment to education includes an affiliation with the Kois Center of Seattle, which aims to advance restorative dentistry through cutting-edge science. He also recently became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), which means that he has clearly demonstrated his impressive knowledge and credibility regarding the treatment of snoring/obstructive sleep apnea through custom oral appliances.

Always staying up to date on the latest technology and techniques dentistry has to offer, Dr. Kirby remains a member of a number of prestigious dental and sleep groups, including: the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, the Crown Council, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the East Texas Dental Association, Smiles for Life, The Pankey Institute, and the Foundation for Airway Health.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy. 

Consecutively since 2008, Dr. Kirby is proud to have been selected by his peers as an outstanding practicing dentist in Texas. He has also been named as a Patient Reviews Certified “Top Doctor” in Cosmetic Dentistry and Sleep Medicine, and Best Dentist in BSCENE Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

Family and home life are important commitments to Dr. Kirby. He and his wife, Tempe, reside in Longview and have two children, Landen and Sierra, as well as a granddaughter.
