Dr. Ho, a licensed acupuncturist, currently practices within his private practice – Burlingame Acupuncture & Herbs Clinic Center – in Millbrae, California. He is dedicated to providing treatments for diverse ailments such as pain, stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, facial paralysis, shingles, and many other problems.
Alongside his clinical role, he serves as a Professor within the Academy of Chinese American Medicine, where he has taught for more than a decade, and at the Chinese Medical Science Research Institute. He is also affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco.
Academically, Dr. Ho graduated with his undergraduate degree from the San Francisco State University, after which he went on to complete his second Bachelor in Acupuncture degree from the Yuengling Center in Florida in 1985. Five years later, in 1990, he graduated with his Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree from Hong Kong, and then relocated to the United States where he received his Doctor of Acupuncture degree from Rhode Island.
With over four decades of experience, the doctor is certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, which is a non-profit organization in the United States that aims to “establish, assess, and promote recognized standards of competence and safety in acupuncture and Oriental medicine for the protection and benefit of the public.”
Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a technique in which thin needles are inserted into the body and in some cases, electro-stimulation is applied to gently stimulate particular regions of the body. Acupuncture is also used to maintain general health and well-being. Acupuncturists treat a variety of physical and psychological issues, such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain, digestive disorders, and infertility.
