Dana Maryse Shapero, PhD, is a leading Clinical Psychologist, Founder and Executive Director currently serving patients at his private practice, Simply Become, PLLC, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He works to facilitate an environment in which individuals can feel safe, supported, and understood, tailoring the dynamics within each session to meet each individual's unique needs. Dr. Shapero then utilizes an integrative approach - founded in Evidence Based Therapies - to specifically attend to each individual's experience so that they can most successfully overcome the obstacles that they are facing in their lives. After moving to Michigan, he worked at the Center for Eating Disorders in Ann Arbor and as a consultant for the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital prior to going off on his own to establish Simply Become, PLLC. After earning his Bachelorâ??s Degree in Education at York University, Dr. Shapero completed his Masterâ??s Degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor specializing in work with children and adolescents. He completed his internship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, where he received specialized intensive training in working with children and adolescents struggling with eating disorders (using Maudsley's FBT approach in inpatient, day program, and outpatient settings) and individuals struggling with OCD. Additionally, in order to stay up to date on all medical advancements in her field, she maintains a professional membership with the American Psychological Association.
