Dr. Kanellakos specializes in general orthopedic surgery, with expertise in hip replacement, knee replacements, arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, fracture stabilization surgery, and other orthopedic trauma surgeries. Having been practicing in the United States and Canada for more than 15 years, his experience includes computer-assisted surgery, minimally invasive joint replacement, partial knee replacements and complex revision surgeries. He performs minimally invasive posterior and anterior hip replacement surgery.

Regarding his educational background, Dr. Kanellakos graduated with his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. He then went on to serve his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Queen Elizabeth II Health Science Center, Dalhousie University, and his fellowship in total hip and knee arthroplasty, orthopedic trauma surgery at the Saint Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
Since 2007, he has been a partner with the Orthopedic Group in Morristown, New Jersey. He practiced previously with Orthopedic Associates, PC, in Binghamton, New York. He has been an attending physician in general orthopedic surgery for Markham Stouffville Health Centre in Markham, Ontario, and is affiliated with Morristown Medical Center.
The doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
