Get to know Cardiologist Dr. David B. Curtis, who serves patients in Evansville, Indiana.

A seasoned cardiologist, Dr. Curtis sees patients at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Hospital. He can also be found on staff at Ascension St. Vincent Warrick Hospital, and Ascension St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Ascension St. Vincent Evansville provides emergency medicine services, level II trauma care, medical-surgical care and maternity services that include perinatal care for women and babies in high-risk pregnancies. Their primary and specialty care doctors offer advanced care close to home.

Graduating with his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Curtis went on to further his training by completing his residency in internal medicine at the Good Samaritan Hospital, and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Geisinger Medical Center.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
