Dr. Pollack’s journey to becoming a leading ophthalmologist began with his Ivy League education at Harvard Medical School, where he earned his Medical Degree in 1995. He further honed his skills through an internship and residency in ophthalmology at The Mount Sinai Hospital of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

To deepen his expertise in surgical and medical retina, Dr. Pollack completed a prestigious two-year San Francisco retina fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center, in collaboration with the Schatz practice. This fellowship was pivotal in enhancing his knowledge and skills in modern vitreoretinal surgical concepts and techniques, as well as exposing him to various aspects of medical retina, including retinal vascular disease, choroidal vascular disease, and uveitis.

As a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmologists (FAAO) and an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, Dr. Pollack is duly recognized for his contributions to the field. He is board certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a testament to his expertise and commitment to excellence.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Pollack serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and plays a pivotal role in training residents and fellows in vitreous and retina surgery at the Eye Trauma Service of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.

Dr. Pollack is one of the first ophthalmologists in New York City to implement and teach 25-gauge or small incision vitreoretinal surgery for complex retinal detachments. His contributions to eye research and disease investigation have been acknowledged by Research to Prevent Blindness, Inc., and he has published articles in major academic journals.
