With a focus on restoring function to individuals, Dr. Chung is a well-versed physiatrist with Mount Vernon Rehabilitation Medicine Associates in Alexandria, Virginia. He helps patients with spine care, including non surgical techniques such as pain management, injections, stretching and physical therapy.

Founded in 1996, Mount Vernon Rehabilitation Medicine Associates assists individuals in the recovery from surgery, injuries and illnesses. The team of specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation help patients develop mobility, strength, balance, activities of daily living, problem solving, swallowing, speech, memory, and leisure. Born in South Korea, Dr. Chung grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He earned his undergraduate degree from University of Maryland and his medical degree from Chung-Ang University, College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea in 1987. He then relocated to the United States, performing his internship in internal medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1992, and his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at SUNY – Downstate Medical Center in 1997.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (FAAPMR), he is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.

Practicing medicine in Virginia, Dr. Chung is affiliated with Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, and the Inova Neuroscience and Spine Institute.
