Embarking on his medical journey with the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. Karnaze graduated in the Class of 1973. Following his graduation, he pursued an internship in internal medicine at the University of Southern California/LAC+USC Medical Center from 1973 to 1974. Subsequently, he completed his residency in neurology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine from 1974 to 1975. 

Thereafter, Dr. Karnaze continued to expand his expertise with a second residency in neurology at the University of Southern California/LAC+USC Medical Center from 1975 to 1977. Later, he concluded his medical training with a residency in neurology at the University of California (San Diego) Medical Center from 1978 to 1979.

Activating patients’ sensations, the doctor is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
