Born and raised in India, he earned his medical degree from the Dayanand Medical College of Punjab University in 1977. After moving to the United States, he completed an internship at Beebe Hospital, and his residency in internal medicine at Jersey City Medical Center and Perth Amboy General Hospital. Finally, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Medical College of Philadelphia.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, peripheral endovascular interventions, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Sahni is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI).

On a professional level, he is an active member of the American Heart Association, and has co-authored several research papers in leading medical journals and has delivered and chaired many grand rounds and cardiac catheterization conferences.

From 1997 to 2013, Dr. Sahni was the Medical Director of the cardiac catheterization lab at Raritan Bay Hospital in Amboy, New Jersey, where he was responsible for the inception and development of a cardiac catheterization program focused on diagnostic coronary angiography, acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) interventions, and elective angioplasty.

The doctor previously served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Raritan Bay Medical Center, and Director of interventional cardiology at Saint Michael Medical Center.

The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
