Get to know Neurosurgeon Dr. Chad A. Glenn, who serves patients in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A dual fellowship-trained skull base and neuro-oncology surgeon, Dr. Glenn is a part of the neurosurgery team at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Oklahoma City, located in Midtown. Inspired to pursue his specialty by his own father’s stroke, he is passionate about helping patients recover and get back to their lives. 

As a high-volume neuro-oncology surgeon, Dr. Glenn treats malignancies of the brain with a special focus in skull base tumors, pituitary tumors, and gliomas. He specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques, like keyhole surgery and expanded endoscopic endonasal approaches to the skull base. 

Additionally, he is the only neurosurgeon in the state who performs laser interstitial thermal therapy, an advanced technique performed by implanting a laser catheter into hard-to-reach brain tumors and using heat to kill it.

A graduate of LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine, Dr. Glenn went on to perform his internship and residency in neurological surgery at Oklahoma University Health Science Center. He then pursued a minimally invasive skull base surgery fellowship at the Stephenson Cancer Center under the direction of Michael Sughrue, MD, a world-renowned neuro-oncology surgeon, followed by two fellowships in neurosurgery, including a skull base surgery fellowship at Case Western Reserve University with Nicholas Bambakidis, MD, a nationally recognized leader in acoustic neuroma treatment. 

With an unwavering dedication to his specialized field, the doctor is board certified in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.

In affiliation with many professional organizations, Dr. Glenn is an active member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Skull Base Society, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Society of Neuro-Oncology.
