Get to know Dentist Dr. Dedi Turner, who serves the Union, Kentucky area at her private practice, Turner Family Dentistry. Dr. Turner graduated in 1995 with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. She has been in practice for over twenty-five years and specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases and conditions associated with the mouth and overall dental health. After completing her formal schooling, Dr. Turner started her own dental practice, which she owned and operated for more than twelve years. Later, Dr. Turner moved to Kentucky with her husband, also a dentist, and opened a practice together with him. In her current practice, Dr. Turner offers a wide range of care options to her patients, and is able to provide most procedures in house, where people can feel safe and at home. She is primarily interested in providing patients with preventative and regular maintenance treatments such as cleanings, fluoride treatments, X-rays (to look for cavities), and cavity fillings. In addition, Dr. Turner completes many hours of continuing dental education. Among the topics Dr. Turner has studied are: TMJ-TMD, dental implants, and laser and periodontal therapies. To stay up-to-date on developments in her field, Dr. Turner maintains professional memberships with the American Dental Association and the Kentucky Dental Association. She believes that dentistry goes far beyond caring for teeth; it’s about helping people develop better oral and overall health and improving their lives. Because of her dedication to her patients and her practice, Dr. Turner makes a difference in the lives of those she treats. General dentists provide a wide array of services that are vital to patients’ continued health. These services include: preventive services — helping to maintain good oral health by stopping disease before it takes hold in the mouth; restorative services — receiving timely and appropriate treatment when a problem is identified; as well as cosmetic services — performing a range of cosmetic procedures, such as teeth whitening, cosmetic bonding – even porcelain veneers. General dentists also address overall health concerns, as oral health is seen as the mirror of general health. In fact, some dental problems may reflect issues in other parts of the body and vice versa. Dr. Turner and her team at Turner Family Denistry work together to provide the best possible care for each and every patient. When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Turner is usually with her family. They enjoy boating together and are active in their local church.
