The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He then went on to perform his residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, followed by his fellowship in burn surgery in the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research.

With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, Dr. Albrecht is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. 

Holding membership status with a number of professional organizations, he is a member of the American Burn Association, the American College of Surgeons (Fellow – FACS), the Bexar County Medical Society, the San Antonio Critical Care Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine – Texas Chapter.
