A seasoned general and cosmetic dentist, Dr. Montz has devoted nearly three decades to delivering top-tier dental care to the communities of Pearland and Friendswood, Texas at his private practice, Montz and Maher Dental Group.
Raised in Friendswood, Texas, he excelled academically, graduating with honors from Friendswood High School in 1987. His pursuit of higher education led him to Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science in 1990.
With an unwavering commitment to his craft, Dr. Montz continued his educational journey at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, graduating with honors and earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. His leadership skills were evident as he served as class president for three consecutive years. Following his doctoral studies, he further honed his skills through a rigorous one-year residency program at UT School of Dentistry at Houston, where he obtained a postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
Driven by a passion for excellence, he remains at the forefront of his field by maintaining active membership in esteemed professional organizations such as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, among others. His commitment to excellence has been consistently recognized, with peer-voted publications such as H Magazine, Houstonia, and Texas Monthly consistently acknowledging him as one of the top dentists in the Greater Houston area.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Montz is deeply invested in serving his community. For the past 13 years, he has continued to serve on the Friendswood ISD Board of Trustees, leveraging his expertise to contribute to the advancement of education. Recognized for his exemplary service, he has earned the prestigious Master Trustee honors from the Texas Association of School Boards.
Additionally, he has dedicated over a decade to the City of Friendswood Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, where he has served as both a member and Vice Chairman. His commitment to community extends to his alma mater, Texas A&M University, where he serves as a founding member of the Biomedical Science Advisory Board. He is also actively involved in supporting youth sports, having volunteered his time for over 20 years as a coach for soccer, baseball, and basketball teams. His passion for soccer led him to play a pivotal role in the establishment of the Friendswood Soccer Club and Space City FC soccer club, where he served on the board in various leadership capacities.
