Get to know Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Leonard J. Scuderi, who serves patients in Torrance, California.

With an impeccable record as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Scuderi currently works with Cardiofit Medical Group, Inc. in Torrance, California. He is also affiliated with Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance.

In his line of work, Dr. Scuderi performs coronary angioplasty, stenting, pacemaker implantation, and comprehensive treatment of venous disease including endovenous ablation (closure of incompetent veins), as well as removal of varicose and spider veins. His cardiology practice is fully-equipped with world-class, state-of-the-art technology including these outpatient services: 3-dimensional cardiac stress testing (most advanced echocardiographic imaging) and 3-dimensional echocardiography heart rhythm monitoring.

Primarily focused on preventive cardiology, Dr. Scuderi provides his patients with knowledge that could save their lives. His goal is to achieve an improved level of cardiovascular well-being for his patients, and they enjoy the comfort of knowing that they may reach him 24-hours a day.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Scuderi graduated with his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He then went on to perform his internship and residency at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach.

Furthering his training, he completed his fellowships at the University of Texas Health Center, Tyler, and at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

As President of INDOC (Independent Doctors Traditional Practice Association of the South Bay), Dr. Scuderi is committed to maintaining traditional personalized care for his patients.

Interventional cardiologists are cardiology subspecialists who are trained to place stents in clogged arteries to allow blood to flow properly and reduce risk of stroke or heart attack, as well as to repair holes in the heart or place special devices in the heart to help it function properly.
