What are the disadvantages of veneers?
Veneers can be life changing. Case selection is important. Not all patients are candidates for veneers. The disadvantages depends on what you're trying to achieve. If your teeth are moderately to severely crooked, then more tooth structure needs to be removed to gain the best possible outcome and sometimes in those cases orthodontics alone or in combination with veneers may be better. Also, with you being 22 years old, you must remember that you're going to have to have them replaced several times in your life. Also, if you are hard on your teeth, i.e., grinding, bruxism, clenching, etc., veneers may not be the best choice. The only way to know your long-term prognosis is to see a dentist that has experience in veneers. Hope this helps. Dr. Sandor READ MORE
Why do I feel sensitivity even after a root canal?
Sensitivity after a root canal can be due to several reasons: 1. Hyperocclusion, where the the teeth are hitting against each other when biting due to the temporary filling or inflammation at the root tip of the tooth pushing the tooth into the bite; 2. Inflammation at the root tip due to the root canal procedure, which can require days or months for the tooth to quiet down; 3. Extra canals that are hidden that may need to be looked for; 4. Tooth could be fractured, which cannot be seen. Injection site pain, which can mimic a tooth pain. Possible grinding/clenching can require longer heal times. Other possibilities, this is not a full list. READ MORE
