In regards to his educational background, Dr. Patel graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Rush Medical College. Upon graduation, he performed his residency at Rush University Medical Center, and his fellowship at NorthShore University HealthSystem – University of Chicago Medicine.
Following his training, he attained board certification in diagnostic radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.
In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Patel is a member of the American College of Radiology.
He served as President of the American College of Radiology, State Chapter/Chicago Radiological Society – Residents & Fellow Section (2013 – 2014); Vice President of the Chicago Radiological Society – Residents & Fellow Section (2012 – 2013); and Program Director of the Chicago Radiological Society – Residents & Fellow Section (2011 – 2012).
