Get to know Child Neurologist Dr. Farjam Farzam, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

Dr. Farzam, a board-certified child neurologist, joined Pediatric Neurologists of Palm Beach in 2013. The four offices can be found throughout the state of Florida, including Loxahatchee, Palm Beach Gardens, Port St Lucie, and Boynton Beach.

Pediatric Neurologists of Palm Beach pride themselves on providing the most comprehensive pediatric neurologic care in the Palm Beaches, Treasure Coast, and surrounding areas. With pediatric expertise in areas such as seizures and epilepsy, developmental and learning disabilities, autism and ADHD, headaches and concussions, and a newly opened sleep disorders clinic, the team of experts can address all aspects of a child’s neurologic care. They are also on staff at the major pediatric hospitals in the area, including Palms West Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital, and Lawnwood Regional Hospital.

Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Farzam served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Neurology within the Departments of Neurology and Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky, and as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Neurology within the Departments of Child Health and Neurology at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

In regards to his educational background, he earned his medical degree from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his residency in pediatrics at Tulane University, followed his residency in child neurology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and his fellowship in neurophysiology at Miami Children’s Hospital. 

In order to stay up to date in his field, the doctor remains a member of the Palm Beach Pediatric Society, which is a non-profit organization of pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, pediatric dentists, and pediatric subspecialists in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee Counties in South Florida. 

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle. A child neurologist, or pediatric neurologist, is a doctor who treats children who have problems with their nervous system. Problems in the nervous system can start in the brain, spine, nerves, or muscles. These can lead to problems such as seizures, headaches, or developmental delays.
