  • What can you not eat with a dental bridge?

You should be able to eat most anything. A bridge is something that is cemented in place and should act like normal chewing teeth. If this is not the case, there may be underlying issues that need to be addressed. READ MORE

  • Can a cavity on the gum line be filled?

Yes, it can be filled, assuming there isn't a crown there already. Check with your dental provider and I'm sure they can help you with that! READ MORE

  • How long does jaw stiffness last after wisdom teeth extraction?

Jaw stiffness can vary between each patient and procedure. Usually a week or two is fairly normal. I would recommend contacting your doctor to see if they prescribed any pain medication, anti-inflammatory medicine. If the situation is getting worse, contact your doctor to let them know the situation. After any extraction, we see our patients in a week to check on healing. READ MORE

  • Can a dental bridge be whitened?

Unfortunately, no. Bridges are often made of porcelain or a tooth colored material. You will need to replace the entire bridge if you wish to have it a lighter shade. READ MORE

  • Does Invisalign make your teeth yellow?

It's very possible due to the trays/treatment. If worn properly, it will attract more bacteria and food. As in regular braces, you will need to clean and floss more frequently to prevent staining. I'd advise getting a good electric toothbrush and make sure you see your hygienist for regular cleanings. If stain is still present after Invisalign, teeth whitening is a great option. READ MORE

  • Is it normal to have pain after a bridge?

It is fairly normal to have some discomfort. Your mouth/body/muscles/joints are all re-calibrating to having new teeth placed. Sometimes it is necessary to have adjustments made after final cementation. I would definitely contact your provider to have your bite checked to ensure that there are no interferences. READ MORE

  • How long after wisdom teeth removal can I eat normally?

This depends on your own healing. Each person heals differently, some quicker, some slower. I would eat softer foods and work your way up to heavier chewing foods. Try to avoid things that will break off into sharp little pieces as they may be very irritating if stuck in the holes. Hope this helps! READ MORE

  • What should I do for tooth pain after a filling?

It is often normal to have post-operative discomfort after a dental procedure. I would recommend an over-the-counter pain medicine for the first day or two after a procedure. If the discomfort is severe enough, call you doctor and contact them if the pain continues after a few days. READ MORE

  • Do they clean your teeth before braces?

I assume by "they," you are referring to the orthodontist. Usually, you will want to go to your hygienist at your regular general dentist's office to get a cleaning before you have braces put on your teeth by your orthodontist. At your cleaning appointment, the dentist should also verify that you do not have any active cavities as it will be very troublesome if you don't have those fixed before having braces placed. Hope this helps! READ MORE

  • Does bone grow back after wisdom tooth extraction?

No, the extraction site will usually heal on its own with soft tissue. READ MORE

  • How often should you get a deep cleaning with implants?

A deep cleaning usually refers to a deep pocket between the tooth and the gum. For implants, if placed and healed correctly, should only need routine cleaning. If threads of the implant are showing or there is a deep pocket between the implant and gum, it is likely the implant has not integrated properly and would need extra attention. READ MORE

  • How long does a tooth extraction and bone graft take to stop hurting?

This is tough to gauge. Everyone heals at a different rate. Also, without knowing how the extraction went (was the tooth impacted, infection present, etc.), that may also delay healing. We usually see our patients 1 week after an extraction/grafting, and the majority of them have been pain free by then. Some will have some discomfort, and very few still have pain. If you are concerned, please contact your provider and I'm sure they will be able to help you. READ MORE

  • What is the easiest tooth to extract?

Easiest tooth to remove would be a primary (baby) tooth, and little front READ MORE

  • How do I clean my teeth after coffee?

It sounds like you are concerned with staining of coffee on your teeth. I would recommend having a whitening treatment done with your dental office as they can provide a higher strength whitening than you can purchase over the counter. Depending on the staining, you may need multiple treatments or just one. Some teeth do not take whitening products and you may discuss that with your dentist. Hope this helps! READ MORE
