“When disease and damaging conditions are avoided, or at least caught at their earliest stages of development, your natural teeth and gums remain healthy, strong and beautiful. I believe proper nutrition can do wonders for the body. What you eat matters and since we recognize that the mouth is the gateway to the rest of the body, prevention of serious dental diseases also matters” expressed Dr. Myers-Whitman.
With a passion for a natural approach to dental care, she is cognizant of the impact that certain dental materials may have on a person’s health. To that end, she tries to be metal free as much as it lies within her power. It has taken her years of hard work to get where she is today, to the point where she can say “your health is in good hands.”
“I think it’s also incredibly important to be a dentist that people can trust, someone who understands what patients go through financially and personally that has an effect on how they care for their teeth,” says Dr. Myers-Whitman. “My patients know that I will give them the straight and accurate story in terms of how their teeth and gums are doing, and work with them to find a solution that makes sense for them as individuals.”
In regards to her educational background, Dr. Myers-Whitman graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Pennsylvania State University in 2004. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 2009.
Expanding her knowledge beyond schooling, she took continuing education courses at the New Jersey Health Professionals Development Institute.
A Pre-Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Myers-Whitman is also an active member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, the American Dental Association, and the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries, create beautiful smiles, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Attributing her success to the support of her family and dental team, Dr. Myers-Whitman is a part of a group of mombosses sharing best practices and supporting one another in their journeys, known as Mommy Dentists in Business.
