Dr. Olugbenga Arole is an experienced internist who works with patients at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut. 

Griffin Hospital is a 160-bed acute care community hospital serving more than 130,000 residents of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Region. Griffin Hospital also serves as the flagship hospital for Planetree, an international leader in patient-centered care and has received national recognition for creating a healthcare facilities and an approach to patient care that is responsive to the needs of patients. Dr. Arole has nearly 20 years of experience as an internist. He graduated from University of Lagos College of Medicine in 2002. He completed a residency program at Woodhull Medical Center an affiliate of the New York University Langone Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York in 2008.

Subsequently, he was the medical director of Hospital Medicine at New Milford Hospital from 2010-2015. At Griffin Hospital he became the Chief of Hospital Medicine in 2015 and the Associate Chair of Medicine in 2021. Dr. Arole has also served as the Chair of the Connecticut Hospital Association Hospitalist Group.

Dr. Arole is board-certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine. ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

His areas of interest include Quality Improvement and Population Health. He is involved in several Quality Improvement initiatives at Griffin Hospital, where he Co-Chairs the High-Value Care Committee. He has led successful efforts to improve diagnostic and therapeutic efficiency and improve care delivery.

Internal Medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Internists are skilled in the management of patients who have undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes. They care for hospitalized and ambulatory patients and may play a major role in education and research.
