Subsequently, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital/ Drexel University where he served as the Administrative Chief Resident and won multiple awards including Most Outstanding Resident and Most Outstanding Resident Teacher. He concluded his medical training with a fellowship in sports medicine at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University where he performed research that was presented nationally. He also served as an Orthopedic Consultant for both the NCAA Division I Women's Atlantic 10 Basketball Tournament and the Men's NCAA Division III National Soccer Tournament.
An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
In his professional experience, Dr. Finstein served as the Vice-Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at East Jefferson General Hospital, where regularly performs cutting edge technology procedures including arthroscopic surgery and robotic surgery. He is also the team Orthopedic Surgeon for De La Salle High School and treats many athletes throughout the greater New Orleans area. Prior to joining Pontchartrain Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, he assisted in the care of athletes from the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, Soul and St. Joseph's University.
