Prior to joining Hunterdon, Dr. Arrigo, was in practice at the Liver Transplant program in Newark, NJ where he managed patients with liver disease, cirrhosis, autoimmune related liver conditions and metabolic liver conditions such as hemochromatosis and drug-induced liver injury. Dr. Arrigo earned his Medical Degree at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM). NYITCOM trains osteopathic physicians using the integration of evidence-based knowledge, critical thinking, and the tenets of osteopathic principles and practice. The vision of the institution is to advance patient-centered, population-based osteopathic health care through transformative education and illuminating research. His residency was completed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ) at the New Jersey Medical School, University Hospital. He then completed a Hepatology Fellowship with UMDNJ, University Hospital. Thereafter, he completed a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Rutgers, University Hospital, in Newark, NJ. Dr. Arrigo is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and licensed by the State of NJ. Dr. Arrigo is affiliated with Hunterdon Medical Center, a 178-bed non-profit community hospital located in Raritan Township, New Jersey near Flemington. Hunterdon Medical Center was founded in 1946 as the result of the efforts of the Hunterdon County Board of Agriculture to provide rural medical care to the region. Memberships in the American College of Gastroenterology, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Association for Bariatric Endoscopy (ABE) allow Dr. Arrigo to continue his education while maintaining his presence at the top of his field. The recipient of multiple honors and accolades, Dr. Arrigo has received Top Doctor Recognition in NJ in 2019. He is married with two young children and is fluent in English and some Spanish. In his off time, he plays Ice hockey with the Princeton Hockey Club and teaches his children to skate. He is a wine connoisseur and enjoys playing with his rescue dogs. Dr. Arrigo also is an active supporter ‘Answer the Call,’ a Widow’s and Children Benefit Fund that supports families of fallen NYPD, FDNY and EMS personnel killed in the line of duty.
