Treating a wide variety of orthopaedic issues, he believes that patients should never have to live with terrible pain on a day to day basis. His procedures include ACL surgery, shoulder replacement, elbow replacement, carpal tunnel release, shoulder arthroscopy, knee arthroscopy, knee replacement and revision knee replacements, wound dressing or debridement, excision of humerus, excision of knee, excision of the tibia, excision of the fibula, excision of the scapula, excision of the clavicle, rib excisions, treatment of ankle fractures, treatment of dislocated ankle, ligament repair, wrist fracture treatment, wrist tendon transfer, hip replacements, and revision hip replacements.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Choung obtained his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He graduated with his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, after which he went on to perform his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in orthopaedic surgery through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.

In good standing with several medical professional associations, Dr. Choung is a member of the Florida Medical Association, the Citrus County Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition, he is affiliated with Bayfront Health Seven Rivers and Citrus Surgery Center.
