Dr. Shurman is board-certified in both dermatology and dermatologic surgery by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is an independent, non-profit organization. It is one of 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Dr. Shurman is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Philadelphia Dermatological Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Berks County Medical Society. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. As a dermatologist, Dr. Shurman specializes in treating conditions of the skin.
