Dr. Phatak, a committed urologist, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the field of urology. Specializing in urologic oncology, urologic stone disease, pediatric urology, and male infertility, he has been a valuable member of the Urology Specialists, P.C. team since 2007, working with patients in Middlebury and Southbury, Connecticut.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2001, Dr. Phatak continued his medical journey by completing residencies in general surgery and urology at Yale-New Haven Hospital. His dedication to advancing the field of urology led him to a prestigious research fellowship with the National Cancer Institute – University of Pennsylvania Urologic Oncology Branch, where he focused on pioneering imaging techniques for prostate cancer detection. His groundbreaking research in this area was presented at the 2004 National American Urology Association meeting in San Francisco, showcasing his commitment to advancing urologic care.

As a board-certified urologist by the American Board of Urology (ABU), he adheres to the highest standards of urologic care to ensure the well-being of his patients. The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, as well as to work with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.
