After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Howard University Hospital in 1996, and completed his fellowship in pulmonary disease at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, City University of New York, and Elmhurst Hospital Center.
A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
