Born and raised in Chicago, her studies began at Whitney Young High School and continued at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she received her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Thereafter, she went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011. 

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy. 

When she is not focused on changing the world one tooth at a time, Dr. Ochoa enjoys spending time with her husband, eating at new restaurants, traveling to new places, working out, and living a healthy lifestyle.
