Dr. Voinov is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Founded in 1969, the ABFM is a not-for-profit, private organization whose mission is to improve the health of the public through board certification, residency training, research, leadership development, and by promoting the development of the specialty of family medicine.
Dr. Voinov has been honored with several awards, including the Biopsychosocial Model and Family-Centered Care Award, McLaren Family Practice Residency Program’s Employee of the Year Award, and Top 25 Family Practitioner 2014 award.
Dr. Voinov was born in Romania and immigrated to Canada at the age of 10 to flee the Communist regime. She returned to Romania as a young woman to attend medical school; however, after graduation, she took a 17-year break to raise her children.
Dr. Voinov received her medical degree from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. Upon relocating to the United States, she went on to complete her internship and residency in family practice at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan.
Family medicine, formerly family practice, is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages.
