Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. David M. Sack, who serves patients in Connecticut.

An excellent gastroenterologist, Dr. Sack works with patients at Connecticut GI, PC, seeing patients out of the offices in Meriden and Wallingford, Connecticut.. He specializes in the digestive system and its diseases that affect the gastrointestinal tract, which include organs from the mouth to the anus as well as liver disorders, as well as performs colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures, providing accurate and thorough care for patients suffering from digestive issues.

“My goal is to provide the most comprehensive, capable, compassionate and current care to all my patients in a way that will make people feel at ease with doing what is necessary to maintain and restore health and well-being. I have devoted my life to this calling for the past 40 years. I bring to the practice of medicine a background in broad liberal education and humanities” stated Dr. Sack.

Providing patients with comprehensive and compassionate care, Connecticut GI offers advanced treatment and diagnostic services for digestive and liver disorders. With care centers throughout the State of Connecticut, the practice also offers on-site infusion services for patients with inflammatory bowel disease in a comfortable environment. 

Teaching 3rd year medical students from Quinnipiac University Netter School of Medicine, Dr. Sack is also affiliated with Midstate Medical Center.

 An active member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, he is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

A 1974 graduate of Harvard College, Dr. Sack earned his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1978. He went on to complete his residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in 1981, and fellowships with Beth Israel Hospital and New England Deaconess Hospital in 1982 and 1983, respectively.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Sack has a number of personal interests that he is happy to discuss during visits if time allows it.
