Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Mayli Davis, who serves patients in Colleyville, Texas.

Dr. Davis, a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist, is the Founder of Advanced Eyelid Surgery Center in Colleyville, Texas. From cosmetic eyelid surgery to dermal fillers, microdermabrasion, intense pulsed light therapy, under eye lift, brow lift, and Botox, she offers patients an excellent choice for cosmetic procedures, taking years off their appearance while addressing all of their cosmetic or medical concerns. It is her goal to provide them with excellent medical care and beautiful cosmetic results delivered in a caring manner.

“My philosophy is to help patients look better, but keep it natural. Overly aggressive eyelid surgery can create the opposite effect you were hoping for. It’s easy to spot and can actually make you look older as you age” as stated by the doctor.

As a woman, Dr. Davis brings a feminine touch and understanding of aesthetic procedures many patients now seek. Utilizing technologies such as laser-assisted and radio frequency to benefit her patients, she is dedicated to staying current on the latest procedures, treatments, and techniques both for the medical and cosmetic treatments of the eyes and surrounding areas.

With expertise and credentials that make her stand out, she serves as a Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She is also affiliated with Calloway Creek Surgery Center, Plaza Day Surgery, Plaza Medical Center, and Harris HEB Hospital.

Growing up as the daughter of a surgeon/ER doctor and a general practitioner in the Kansas City area, Dr. Davis was naturally drawn to medicine. She completed her undergraduate and medical training at the University of Kansas. She interned at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, prior to her three-year residency in ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. A ophthalmic plastic and orbital surgery fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas completed her training.

The doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, which is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. She has served as President of the Tarrant County Ophthalmological Society and as Chairman of the Ophthalmology Division at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, she strives for excellence in everything she does. “I’m always looking for ways to improve myself – personally and professionally. I welcome feedback from my patients, so I know how I can better serve them” she said.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.

On a more personal note, Dr. Davis has a son and daughter in college. She spent many wonderful years volunteering with their Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops and still serves on the Executive Board of her local Boy Scout council. She is also a member of the Colleyville Lions Club, as well as works with young women at her church.

Outside of the office, she enjoys running and watching movies.
