Technically your 12 months needs to restart with that bleeding, but let your doctor know if that bleeding persists. Based on age and only that one episode of bleeding you should be safe with no birth control READ MORE

  • Do I have an STD?

It may just be irritated after sex, but just because you only have one partner- doesn’t mean he only has one. Always best to get tested for STD just in case READ MORE

  • When I wipe I have a little bleeding?

Even if it is not your typical flow, even light bleeding can be considered a period. Especially if you are using hormonal birth control, as that can lighten your period. • Period late by 5 days?

It would be best to go get a pregnancy test, if that is positive go ahead and call your gynecologist for an appointment. You can have discharge in a normal pregnancy, but it could also be an ectopic or tubal pregnancy which can be life threatening. Hope all goes well. READ MORE

  • Prolonged period?

This can happen occasionally and be a normal variation in your bleeding. Some things may trigger it: stress, missing a pill, taking antibiotics just to name a few. If it continues to happen, you should see your Gyn as you may need a pill change, or a sonogram. If the change only occurs one month, no worries. It’s always good to keep a calendar of your cycles - lots of good apps for this. READ MORE

  • Rate of transmission of HSV2 to an uninfected female partner when taking 1G of Valacyclovir daily?

While it decreases risk of transmission greatly, I really can’t quantify the risk of transmission. You can lessen by using a condom with holes poked in the tip- for less skin contact but still allowing for pregnancy. READ MORE

Use condoms too as birth control doesn’t prevent STD’s. Be very picky about who you take this next step with, something’s you get from sex are not intended and have lots of consequences. READ MORE
