Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Frederick Eruo Sr., who serves patients in Michigan.

A seasoned obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Eruo Sr. is affiliated with Beaumont OB/GYN Associates – Dearborn. In practice for over 33 years, he can also be found on staff at the Beaumont Women’s Health Care Center.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Eruo Sr. earned his medical degree from the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus in 1988. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in general surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael in 2000, and his residency in family medicine at Middlesex Hospital in 2001.

Wanting to further his education, he went on to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in 2004, followed by a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 2006.

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Eruo Sr. is an active member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. the North American Society For Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society for the Study of Reproduction, the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the American Medical Association, the Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
