Exhibiting her passion for family medicine in the care and precision she takes with her patients, Dr. Ramos-Genuino has practiced with the Family Health Center of Montclair since 2002. It is a part of Summit Medical Group, which is recognized as New Jersey’s premier multispecialty medical group. 

Her interest in medicine began when she volunteered at hospitals during high school and college. “I enjoy the intellectual challenges of medicine and it is gratifying to help people overcome illnesses and maintain their health. To help patients achieve their health goals, I listen carefully to their concerns so that I can understand their issues and create achievable treatment plans whenever possible.” as stated by the doctor.

In addition to her affiliation with HUMC Mountainside, Dr. Ramos-Genuino serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. 

To her credit, she has been a volunteer preceptor for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey free clinic in Newark. She has also practiced with Reflections of Livingston in New Jersey & Alexandria Health Care Center in Alexandria, Virginia. 

In the early days of her academic career, Dr. Ramos-Genuino earned her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. She then went on to complete her residency in family practice at San Francisco General Hospital /the University of California.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, she is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. 

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person whom a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Ramos-Genuino enjoys spending time with her family. She says, “My husband and I enjoy exploring new places and learning about different cultures, architecture, foods, and history. We especially enjoy sharing our passion for discovering new places with our daughter.”
