Northern Plains Dental Expands Its Team with a Passionate Professional Focused on Patient Well-Being and Education
A devoted dentist, Dr. Walker, the new owner of Northern Plains Dental in Grand Forks, North Dakota, purchased the office from Dr. Steven B. Swanson. He brings an impressive array of skills and experiences that underscore his commitment to providing exceptional dental care and fostering community health.
A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009, honing his expertise in areas such as oral surgery, implants, endodontics, and aesthetic restorative dentistry. His dedication to continuous improvement in his practice is evident, as he consistently stays updated on modern dental techniques and technologies through continuing education. Notably, he served as class president during his dental education and participated in mission trips to the Dominican Republic, where he applied his skills and compassion to serve underserved communities.
Before joining Northern Plains Dental, Dr. Walker spent six years at Family Healthcare in Fargo, where he not only practiced dentistry but also contributed to the education of future dental professionals. He currently holds adjunct faculty credentials for the University of Iowa, the University of Minnesota, and Creighton University, where he teaches dental students on externships at Spectra Health. His passion for teaching reflects his belief in the importance of nurturing the next generation of dental professionals.
Growing up in Weiser, Idaho, he developed a love for the outdoors, music, and family. His diverse background includes missionary work in the Dominican Republic, where he became fluent in Spanish and immersed himself in the local culture. His love for music, which includes singing, playing guitar and piano, and composing, remains a significant part of his life. He actively participates in church services and community events through music.
Happily married, Dr. Walker and his wife, Lindsey, have four children and enjoy spending quality family time mountain biking along the river trails near their home. His dedication to both his professional and personal life exemplifies the values of community, education, and compassion.
