Get to know Podiatrist Dr. Ryon T. Wiska, who serves patients in Westland, Michigan.
A board-certified podiatrist, Dr. Wiska has been a part of the team of professionals at Dr. Kane & Associates, P.C. in Westland, Michigan since July of 2019.
A native of metro-Detroit, Dr. Wiska obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Hillsdale College where he was also a member of the football team. Having experienced a severe ankle injury as a collegiate athlete, he learned first hand the importance of proper care and recovery and developed a passion for the field of podiatry.
After obtaining his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Wiska returned to metro-Detroit for his surgical residency at Beaumont. During his final year of residency, he was named top surgeon of his class. Through his training he received extensive training in trauma of the foot and ankle, sports medicine, charcot limb salvage, flatfoot reconstruction, as well as foot and ankle reconstruction. While specializing in these areas, he enjoys treating all ailments of the foot and ankle.
As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is double board-certified through the American Board of Podiatric Medicine & the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Wiska has presented his research at a national level and has lectured to residents and fellow podiatrists across the state on numerous surgical topics.
In the state of Michigan, Dr. Wiska remains affiliated with Trinity St. Mary Mercy Hospital, Beaumont Hospital- Dearborn, Beaumont Hospital- Wayne, and Garden City Hospital.
