In regards to his educational background, Dr. Lucas graduated with his Medical Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 1992. He then went on to perform his internship and residency at Boston City Hospital, followed by his fellowship in gastroenterology at Boston University Medical Center.

Subsequent to his training, the doctor attained board certification in gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
