Get to know Neurological Surgeon Dr. George Cybulski, who serves patients in Chicago, Illinois.
Named one of the Best Doctors in Illinois 2023 by Who’s Who in the United States, Dr. Cybulski is an accomplished neurological surgeon at Humboldt Park Health.
His primary clinical interests include surgical treatment of diseases of the spine, surgical treatment of spinal cord injury, surgical treatment of tumors of the brain (including pituitary tumors and gliomas) and spinal cord (including schwannomas and meningiomas).
Among his other positions, Dr. Cybulski is a neurosurgical consultant to the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears sports teams, a physician-advisor for Surgical Solutions, a neurosurgical consultant at Humboldt Park Health, an Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at Northwestern University, an Associate Professor of Surgery at St. George’s University School of Medicine, and a National Cancer Institute investigator in Radiation Therapy Oncology Group trials for treatment of malignant gliomas.
With consummate skills for patient treatment and care, he brings a unique combination of intelligence, experience, and humanity to the field of health policy and management.
A 1980 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, Dr. Cybulski went on to perform his residency in neurological surgery at Rush University Medical Center.
Subsequent to his training, he attained board certification in neurological surgery through the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.
Holding fellowship status, Dr. Cybulski is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons (FAANS).
In addition, he is an active member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles related to spinal surgery, and has published a book titled ‘Can We Manage to Save Healthcare.’
