About

The foundation of my health management follows the principles of Regenerative Medicine by combining both traditional and integrative medicine. Using a combination of nutritional, hormonal, physical and use of nutraceutical supplements allows patients to regain their health and vitality. I treat both men and women, however my Gynecological background is able to manage women’s health issues from adolescence through menopause and beyond. My area of expertise lies within hormone imbalance, adolescent health, family planning, sexual well-being, peri-menopause and menopausal transitions, hormone modulated weight loss and preventative medicine. My expertise in hormone and anti-aging medicine applies to men in achieving their optimal health and well-being, including testosterone replacement therapy and the Priapus shot for sexual issues. Lastly, I am able to help you achieve your anti-aging needs not only within but optimize what you look on the outside through aesthetic medical and cosmetic procedures.

  • When can you go home after giving birth?

With an uncomplicated vaginal delivery, the usual stay in the hospital was discharged on day 2 after the birth. READ MORE

  • Period irregularities?

When you stop taking the pill, especially mid-cycle, it can take some time for your hormones to regulate. It can take up to three months after you stop the pill for your periods to regulate again. I encourage you to continue using condoms as you have had. READ MORE

  • Do I have my period or implementation bleeding?

Being on a birth control pill for some time may lead to your period to be very light, or even no bleeding at all. Your period comes from stimulation of the uterine lining, the dosing of your birth control pill may not be enough to create that lining, which can be expected using birth control pills. Of course any time you are concerned, I recommend doing a pregnancy test, however, in that you have taken the pill daily and this is the time you are anticipating your period, it is unlikely to be implantation bleeding. • How to get off birth control?

You do not need to wean off a birth control pills, but I would suggest finishing the birth control pack to maintain regulation of your period. Once you stop taking them, they do not stay in your body so you do not need to be concerned regarding lingering effects of birth control pills. Omnia M. • Is pregnancy possible with PCOS?

Yes, it is possible to conceive again. The issue with PCOS is related to both ovulation and its timing of it. My recommendation is to see a medical practitioner to help you achieve not only ovulation, but timely ovulation. Omnia M. Samra-Latif Estafan, MD, MPH, FACOG, FAARM, NCMP READ MORE

  • Methylprednisolone and birth control?

Since you are taking it for hives, I am assuming it is short term. The steroids do not interfere with the contraceptive effectiveness of the birth control pill. But birth control pills may slow down the metabolism of the steroid in the liver and allow it to increase the steroids effects. Omnia M. Samra-Latif Estafan, MD, MPH, FACOG, FAARM, NCMP READ MORE

  • How to treat vaginal itch?

To treat a vaginal itch depends on if the itch is inside the vagina or outside on the vulvar skin. It could range from a yeast infection to an allergic reaction. Your safest bet is to have it looked at by a medical practioner. Meanwhile you can try this: If it is accompanied by a white thick discharge it could be yeast and an over the counter anti fungal cream designed for this region would work. If it is something that happened after shaving cortisone cream would work for that. Omnia M. Samra-Latif Estafan MD, MPH, FACOG, FAARM READ MORE

  • What happens if you don't drink milk during pregnancy?

Drinking milk during pregnancy is intended to provide a pregnant woman sufficient calcium for the pregnancy and growing fetus. The Institute of Medicine recommends 1,000 milligrams of calcium a day during pregnancy. However, milk is not the only way to obtain calcium; there are many other non-dairy choices in addition to calcium supplements. Omnia M. Samra-Latif Estafan, MD, MPH, FACOG, FAARM READ MORE

  • How can I track my ovulation?

Typically ovulation occurs 14 days prior to your first day of period - so if you have a 30 day cycle you ovulate on day 16. But two methods to use include the basal body temperature method or simply buying an over the counter ovulation kit. For the basal body temperature this is a good resource for you: https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/basal-body-temperature/about/pac-20393026 READ MORE

  • Are painful periods normal?

Periods can be uncomfortable and/or the pain can be easily remedied with simple measures. If not, I would advise to see a gynecologist to see if there are maybe underlying issues that can be the reason why they are painful. Medical issues such as endometriosis, fibroids, and cervical issues are just a few. READ MORE
